WASHINGTON (CNN) -- AstraZeneca will pay $100 million to settle a lawsuit filed by drug giant AstraZeneca in Connecticut over allegations that it illegally marketed and promoted its blockbuster cholesterol drug Crestor as a way to lower the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
The case, filed Thursday in Connecticut's U. S. District Court, has become one of the most complex matters in the world. Crestor is a cholesterol-lowering medication, which is used to lower cholesterol and lower the risk of heart disease, and it is currently under investigation by the U.
